The US strongly opposes France's plan to recognize Palestine at the UN, labeling it 'Hamas propaganda.' French President Macron announced the decision, supporting a two-state solution without Hamas, aiming to encourage Arab states to recognize Israel.

France and Saudi Arabia will co-chair a UN conference in New York from July 28-30 to revive stalled two-state solution talks. Days ahead, French President Macron said Paris would formally recognise Palestine in September,

France will officially recognize the state of Palestine, "true to its historic commitment to a just and lasting peace in the Middle East," Emmanuel Macron said.

US President Donald Trump accused Hamas on Friday of not wanting to reach a ceasefire deal in Gaza as Israel said it would explore "alternative options" to rescue hostages after negotiations collapsed.

"The humanitarian catastrophe that we are witnessing in Gaza must end now," a joint statement from the three countries reads.

Israel will coordinate airdrops of aid into Gaza from foreign countries in the coming days, an Israeli security official confirmed to ABC News.
