Hot and humid weather will scorch Central Florida for several days and the National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a heat advisory for the region beginning Saturday.

An updated heat advisory was issued by the National Weather Service on Saturday at 10:47 p.m. valid for Sunday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. for Mobile and Baldwin counties.

The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory at 2:23 p.m. on Saturday valid from Monday 11 a.m. until Tuesday 8 p.m. for Passaic, Hudson, Bergen, Essex and Union counties.

Scorching temperatures combined with the high humidity are expected Thursday, July 24, the National Weather Service stated in the advisory. The advisory will be in effect from 11 a.m. through 8 p.m., with the head index reaching a high of 105.

At 2:23 p.m. on Saturday, the National Weather Service issued a heat advisory valid from Monday 11 a.m. until Tuesday 8 p.m. for Passaic County.

Heavy rain and thunderstorms are coming through Indianapolis, amid a heat advisory. Scatter showers will pour throughout central Indiana with rain rates of 1-2 inches per hour in the strongest storms.

A heat advisory will be in effect Friday. While thunderstorms will cool things down for the weekend, the extreme heat will return early next week.
