He’s not expected to be the team’s Week 1 starter, though, with the Giants’ current depth chart putting Dart as the third-stringer, behind Russell Wilson (No. 1) and Jameis Winston (No. 2).
Following Saturday night's matchup between the Giants and the New York Jets, Griffin took to social media to praise Dart's effort throughout his second NFL showing. It's safe to say the former Washington Commanders star is impressed with the first-round pick.
But as the Giants wrap up their 2025 preseason against the New England Patriots, Dart’s ascension into the full-time starting role is going to have to wait, not because he hasn’t made progress since setting foot in East Rutherford as a member of the team, but because of the circumstances.
