Top Thrill 2, which is the tallest ride at Cedar Point, is an overhaul of the original Top Thrill Dragster. The enhanced attraction features three high-speed launches between two 420-foot tall towers.

"Top Thrill 2 is currently down for mechanical reasons," Tony Clark, spokesperson for the Sandusky, Ohio theme park, told WKYC TV 3 in Cleveland in a story published Sunday, June 8.

Top Thrill 2 debuted in 2024 but closed after only eight days for adjustments. According to a video posted May 7 on Reddit, the coaster may have needed a few more adjustments on opening day.

"Top Thrill 2 is one of the first roller coasters in the world to utilize Zamperla’s 'Lightning' trains, capable of high-speed aerodynamics, performance and rider comfort," Cedar Point explains.
