May 2, 2023 · CA or County forest techs do everything from tree marking to supervising harvest operations to trail construction to public relations. There are some jobs but just in southern Ontario. Industry techs are generally harvest focused - marking, layout, harvest supervision - they do most of the legwork now like cruising and layout.

Jan 10, 2024 · The forest service hires entry level folks at the gs3 level. Usajobs.gov is your resource for federal employment. State agencies hire lots of entry level folks for wildland fire. Just a note, forestry is the work surrounding forest management. Rangers are law enforcement and/or park staff. There's not much overlap between the careers.

I know of 3 forestry cc's: b0aty - its just a popular person who turned his personal channel into a forestry thing - at least for now. Also I know two cc's dedicated specifically and permanently to Forestry: 'risingroots', and 'roots cc'. All 3 cc's work only for people in w510.

Silverrun Forest (platinum dlc) is a forestry centered map and (in my opinion) one of Giants' most beautiful and well made maps (ever). The tools / tree types / productions coming with it are really making logging worthwhile and fun.

Foresty Forest and Dualex are the only two that I like. Foresty Forrest is a Canadian van lifer that is typically in extremely cold temperatures. He preps and repairs his van himself and he records it live.

I added on the major because I originally wanted to go into arboriculture, and I felt that the Parks and Rec major would give me the people skills and public works planning that I may need, in addition to the tree knowledge from a forestry major.
