Look, I get it -- Mina Kimes is a very pretty person. Kimes published the piece on her Tumblr and it was reprinted in Slate. Hah, there are some great lines in that piece (my favorite below). But shoutout to Papa Kimes for fostering a Seattle-sports environment for Mina.

Is Mina Kimes one of the best (insert any media here) and the answer is yes. She’s great on TV, great on social media, great on pods, and she was a great writer back in the day. It’s admirable and annoying.

I think Mina Kimes shows that there are useful alternative routes to being a popular and well-respected sports commentator than being either (a) a former player or (b) a hot take artist. Kimes has clearly put in the work, studies football carefully, and most importantly doesn’t rely on lazy tropes and generalizations from previous seasons.

Mina Kimes is a true breath of fresh air in the football media landscape. So many clowns out there on ESPN and FS1 love to create a negative narrative around Josh and this team, and are so resistant to stray from it. Mina always presents her case on things with analytics and data, and doesn't resort to clickbait headlines.
