Strong tides prevented two paddleboarders from getting back to shore at Cedar Beach in Mount Sinai yesterday afternoon. A Suffolk County Police helicopter responded above the Long Island Sound and spotted the females, who had tied their paddleboards together. Their location was then provided to Police Officers Chris Defeo and Timothy Dillon aboard Marine Delta, who pulled the women to safety.
