York Region follows a strict salt management plan to responsibly and sustainably apply road salt for optimal road safety and for the safety of motorists. The Region works closely with Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority - LSRCA and Toronto and Region Conservation Authority to monitor and reduce the impact of salt on local ecosystems.
