While walking along a wetland in coastal North Carolina, a commotion once again caught our attention. This time, it was possibly the most remarkable turtle behavior I have had the pleasure of seeing in the wild: male combat between two adult Spotted Turtles (Clemmys guttata). Last week we had the privilege of releasing 84 turtles back into the wild! The majority of these turtles came to us as eggs, after their mothers unfortunately passed away. We were able to retrieve the eggs, incubate them, hatch them and then care for them over many months leading up to their release.
