I always like to begin my explorations of the Santa Ynez Wine Country at Peake Winery. First of all, history. It was the original site of Sanford winery, which began the Pinot Noir boom in the wine country. Second of all, it has a beautiful tasting room and surrounding vineyard. And, finally, and more importantly, it offers terrific wines.
