The Polyphemus moth (Antheraea polyphemus) is a large, tan-colored North American moth with a wingspan of 3 15/16–5 7/8 in (10–15 cm). It's named after the one-eyed giant Polyphemus from Greek mythology due to the large eyespots on its hindwings. The moth's upperside is reddish to yellowish brown, with a pink or black and pink submarginal line on the forewing.
